Did You Think To Pray?

“Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray?” I know, sometimes we get into such a hurry. Get the kids ready, put the dog out, check to ensure that your hair is combed—did you remember to brush your teeth? Life is busy, and mornings can be the worst. There seems to be so much to do and so little time in which to do it.

It’s not just mornings. Things get hectic at work, the school calls (why are they calling me?), so many things and people demand our attention throughout the day. Where am I going to find the time to talk to God?

That’s a fair question, but the answer is pretty simple: it’s always a good time to talk with your Father. He doesn’t need a formal setting to fill you with his presence—just your willing heart. You are his temple, and wherever you are is holy. So breathe that prayer as you pack lunches, dress toddlers, head to the coffee machine, open that email. Your Father is waiting to hear from you and wants to be with you even in the bustle and frustration of another busy day.

That’s something to think about.
